Vascular smooth muscles are a very important functional element in the body. The mechanisms of contraction and relaxation of the vascular smooth muscles, although well established, are still the subject of scientific investigation, including considerable interest in intracellular transmission used for pharmacological modulation in the Rho family proteins. The active Rho family proteins join with serotonin-threonine kinase, inducing the formation of fibers tension, and focal points in vascular smooth muscles. The activation of the RhoA/kinaseRho is very important, considering the pathogenesis of the several diseases, especially cardiovascular diseases, and Rho-kinase inhibitors may provide an alternative pathway in pharmacotherapy of the cardiovascular diseases.
