Neuralgia nervi trigemini is the disease, which is presented in the society for centuries. This kind of pain is joined with one half of the face. The pain is short, but strong or very strong, unbearable. In the initial termof the disease the pain is spontaneous and keeps from a few seconds to a few minutes. The remissions between the attacks of the pain are logitudinal from a few months to the few years. We have two kinds of neuralgia: idopatica and symptomatica. Etiologic aspects of this disease were presented in the article. Pathological factors of symptomatic neuralgia were discussed and symptoms and the course of the disease were described. The scheme of treatment from noninvasive to neurosurgical methods was suggested. Pharmacological treatment and current methods of surgical treatment were discussed in details. (Clin. Exp. Med.
