The malposition of transvenous pacemaker lead in the left ventricle – two cases of incidental ECHO findings

Introduction: A rare complication of cardiac pacemaker implantation is a malposition of tranvenous lead in the left ventricle. Case report: The report describes two patients with pacemaker transvenous lead malopsition in the left ventricle found accidentally during the routine transthoracic echocardiography. Conclusions: The transvenous pacemaker lead malposition should be suspected when right bundle branch block (RBBB)-like QRS complexes are recorded in post-implantation electrocardiogram (ECG). Subsequently to such a finding the transthoracic echocardiography and x-ray must be performed to establish the final diagnosis. (Clin Exp Med Lett 2007; 48(4): 271-274)
